Skiing and sledging are great, of course – but a real school holiday also keeps your mind alert. Here at IKEA Museum, everyone in the family can challenge themselves with different activities that combine play and problem-solving with creativity and learning – and everyone who breaks the code in the Family Challenge gets ice-cream!

Pentathlon for the whole family

Challenge the family to a classic ‘pentathlon’ with activities for all ages. The various events put participants’ capabilities to the test, including coordination, target accuracy and creative thinking. The pentathlon is suitable for all ages. Under-14s must be accompanied by an adult.
Date: 21–25 February
Time: 11:00–14:00

Family Challenge – explore the museum and break the secret code

Look around the museum to find answers to quizzical questions. You’ll need to pay attention to your surroundings, and be able to think logically. The correct answers make up a secret code, which you can then exchange for an ice-cream in KÖKET restaurant. Get your questionnaire in the lobby.
Date: 21–27 February
Time: 10:00–18:00

Join an inspiring tour

Let our knowledgeable guides take you around the museum. They talk about how Swedish people furnished their homes before IKEA came along, and how life at home has evolved since then. No advance booking necessary. Numbers are limited on each tour.
Date: 26–27 February
Time: 11:30–12:15 (Swedish) and 14:30–15:15 (English)

VR sports at the museum

During February school break, step into a virtual sporting world here at the museum. Put on your VR goggles, grab the controllers, choose your sport and off you go!
Date: 22, 23 and 24 February
Time: 15:30–17:00

Eat well at KÖKET restaurant

Take a break during your visit and enjoy something tasty at KÖKET restaurant. We serve lunch, dinner, and of course fika! Also, meals are free for children up to age 13 during the school break, with a full-paying adult. Admission ticket must be shown.
