Welcome to a creative and inspiring workshop, where you can try your hand at making a patchwork quilt with fabrics from the iconic 10-gruppen – Ten Swedish Designers. Working with Ida Pettersson Preutz, an artist and designer who has many years’ experience, you will be able to create your own unique pattern, using the patchwork technique to explore imaginative ways of using colours and composition.
Ida starts off with a brief visual presentation showcasing some of the patterns she has created for IKEA. She also talks about her artistic process, and how she uses the patchwork approach to create textile artworks.
You will be able to create your own patchwork pattern by putting together ready-cut pieces of fabric by 10-gruppen. If time allows, you will also be able to make your patchwork into a cushion. You can keep everything you make in the workshop!
