Vintage Week

For one week, from 20 February 2017, IKEA classics from the 80’s and 90’s will be sold at IKEA Museum’s Vintage Week. IKEA Museum is located in Älmhult where IKEA has its roots and its heart.

IKEA has been selling furniture for over 70 years. Throughout that time IKEA has been working with Democratic Design to create great products for the many people. Democratic Design means that all products have a great form, function, quality, low price, and are sustainable. The products that will be sold during IKEA Museum´s Vintage Week are carefully chosen IKEA classics from the 80´s and 90´s by designers such as Tord Björklund, Niels Gammelgaard, Sven Fristedt, Ehlén Johansson, Knut Hagberg och Marianne Hagberg.

”IKEAs furniture is designed to create a better everyday life for the many people, and has been a part of the many people´s homes for a long time. For our Vintage Week, we have been looking for furniture with an industrial vibe. We have found some old classics, and maybe also some new ones,” says Thea Davidsson, Project Leader for the Vintage Weeks at IKEA Museum.

During the spring and summer of 2017, IKEA Museum will arrange another two Vintage Weeks, where the focus will be on the 70´s and 00´s and ”Best of PS”.
