Welcome to a practical creative workshop with Klura – a tool that combines embroidery and maths to challenge both head and hand. Discover maths with clever challenges and collaborations. In the workshop, you’ll get to try out the different parts of Klura and test fine motor skills that exercise both the head and the hands – ideal for little problem-solvers.
The workshop is for children aged 6–10 accompanied by an adult. No embroidery experience is required, just curiosity and a willingness to think with your hands.
You need to sign up for this workshop latest on the 25th of September by sending an email to: bookingsIKEA.Museum@inter.ikea.com.
About Klura:
Klura is one of the winning entries in Young Swedish Design 2025. It was developed in response to the increased use of screens in children’s lives and their negative impact on fine motor skills.
The designers:
Anna-Maria Nilsson and Clara Storsten are industrial designers based in Skåne province, southern Sweden, who are passionate about improving children’s motor skills. Klura is the result of their joint graduation project at Lund University in spring 2024. Klura is one of the winning entries in Young Swedish Design 2025 and was awarded the String Furniture Prototype Scholarship.
