Opening of Young Swedish Design

Welcome to the opening of Ung Svensk Form 2025!

Begin the afternoon with a conversation about this year’s exhibition and the diversity of young Swedish design, featuring Caroline Le Bongoat, jury chair and Business Developer for Cultural and Creative Industries at Malmö City, and Rikard Ostrand, architect and contributor. Afterwards, explore the exhibition, which presents innovative works from Sweden’s young designers, spanning architecture, graphic design, industrial design, crafts, textiles, and furniture design. Here, creativity meets sustainability, with a focus on materials, ideas, and contemporary challenges.

Young Swedish Design is an initiative by Svensk Form in collaboration with Dunkers kulturhus, Svenskt Trä, IKEA of Sweden, IKEA Museum and several other actors in Swedish design. The exhibition was inaugurated in Greenhouse at Stockholm Furniture Fair in February 2025 and then toured further.

Join us as the museum shop presents a selection of iconic patterned fabrics by 10-gruppen – Ten Swedish Designers. The textiles on three-metre fabric lengths will be presented and celebrated during our evening opening on 25 September between 17:00 and 19:00. Be inspired by the colourful textiles of the 1970s.

Every Saturday and Sunday
An introduction that helps you get the most out of your visit to IKEA Museum. One of our guides will give you a 45-minute tour of the museum and everything that’s on right now. After that, you can wander around and discover the exhibitions, interactive experiences and museum shop on your own. No pre-registration is required but places are limited. Please note that these tours are not intended for group visits.
