A ‘hack’ can be a major or a minor one. It can be a small change, such as replacing the legs on a KLIPPAN sofa, or more advanced treatment, such as making a 3D printer out of a LACK table. The most important thing is the enjoyment of changing an existing object into something personal and completely unique.
IKEA Hacked
28 April–3 February 2019
‘Hacking’ something means creating something new from something you already have. For the IKEA Hacked exhibition, artists and designers have used IKEA products to make completely new furniture and artworks. The only limit is their imagination!
The IKEA Hacked exhibition features the work of more than 30 international artists, architects and designers, all of whom have used IKEA products as their starting point.
The exhibition also features several interactive installations for visitors of all ages to get hands-on with. Create a digital hack using our touchscreens, or be inspired by the artists and create something completely unique yourself from old IKEA products. The only limit is your imagination.
