Who builds the future?

A journey with visionaries, enthusiasts and entrepreneurs

What would the world be without entrepreneurs? With curiosity as their superpower, they find solutions to life’s problems both large and small – from minor irritations to the big issues of the future. In this exhibition, we pay tribute to the visionaries, enthusiasts and bold entrepreneurs who all play a part in making the world a better place.

From dream to reality

Being an entrepreneur is about daring. Taking that first step and putting your all into your idea requires courage, as well as perseverance. It is not an easy journey, but the rewards are likely to far outweigh the effort. And not just the financial rewards – entrepreneurs are driven by all kinds of motivations. Some may be driven by a desire to explore the universe, while others want to develop new medicines, find livelihoods for vulnerable people, or recycle discarded materials. There is no right or wrong way.

Dare to start small

Starting your own business doesn’t have to be an expensive affair. Many of today’s most successful companies started out as modest hobby ventures in someone’s garage. Just look at Ingvar Kamprad, the founder of IKEA, who began his entrepreneurial career in a shed at his childhood home. All that’s needed is a strong idea, persistence, and the courage to risk failing. This is the entrepreneur’s superpower. Or as Ingvar Kamprad himself put it: “What is an entrepreneur? A person who’s obsessed with an idea and has the desire to make it happen.”

Good examples

In this exhibition, we will meet inspiring visionaries, enthusiasts and entrepreneurs from around the world. Some of them work on their own, while others work in large companies or organisations. Many of them started out right where they were. By finding challenges in their local area, they were driven to look for smart solutions that could change people’s lives in some way.

What kind of entrepreneur are you?

What kind of thing would you like to change? Using the stories in the exhibition as your starting point, you can explore what drives you and find your inner entrepreneur. We have provided a digital tool where you can explore your own way forward. Simply answer the questions, and you’ll find out what kind of entrepreneur you are – or could become!
