Young Swedish Design

18.9 – 12.10.2025

Young Swedish Design 2025 brings together new design from young creators in Sweden. On show are works that move between architecture, graphic design, industrial design, handicrafts, textiles and furniture design – with a clear focus on materials, ideas and the world we live in today.

This year’s exhibition highlights projects that dare to push boundaries – both thematically and aesthetically. Material that would otherwise be considered waste is brought to life, and the works move between the personal and the speculative.

This year’s IKEA scholarship goes to Adrian Bursell and Siri Svedborg for the project Burn and Turn, a series of side tables in wood and glass that highlight materials and craftsmanship.

“We believe that in a world of digital precision, there is a heightened demand for unique objects with room for small variations. This is where craftsmanship can fulfil a function through tactility, materiality and human presence.”

Come and discover the exhibition at IKEA Museum, 18 September – 12 October 2025.

Young Swedish Design is an initiative by Svensk Form – the Swedish Society of Crafts and Design, in collaboration with Dunkers Culture House, Swedish Wood, IKEA of Sweden, IKEA Museum and several other actors in Swedish design. The exhibition opened in the Greenhouse at the Stockholm Furniture Fair in February 2025 before going on tour.
