Opening of Young Swedish Design

On 17 September, we open the touring exhibition Young Swedish Design 2026. An exhibition showcasing some of Sweden’s most exciting emerging designers.

We invite you to a panel discussion featuring IKEA scholarship recipient Love Persson, Svensk Form’s CEO Axel Swanstein, and IKEA Museum’s Destination & Museum Manager Pär Gustafsson. Together, they will share insights on the development of Young Swedish Design and its important role in supporting the next generation of designers, this year’s exhibition and the IKEA scholarship, as well as how tomorrow’s design can shape the future.

After the discussion, you will receive an introduction to the exhibition from Axel Swanstein, before exploring it at your own pace.

A light lunch will be served on arrival, with a vegan wrap and a sparkling non-alcoholic drink. You are welcome to bring it with you into the panel discussion.

An introduction in Swedish that helps you get the most out of your visit to IKEA Museum. One of our knowledgeable, experienced guides gives you a 45-minute tour of the museum and everything that’s on right now. After that, you can wander around and discover the exhibitions, interactive experiences and museum shop on your own. No pre-registration is required but places are limited.
Celebrate 10 years of IKEA Museum

On 30 June, IKEA Museum celebrates its 10th birthday with a day of fun activities for the whole family. Come and enjoy arts and crafts in our creative workshop, laugh and play together at the Roliga Timmen Gameshow and join our guides as they share The Story of IKEA. During the day, all visitors will be offered coffee and a cinnamon bun. FABLER BJÖRN and FAMNIG will also be visiting and look forward to meeting children and adults alike. Don't forget to stop by the museum shop, where you'll find special offers throughout the day.
